In this trek, you can see the green oasis of the Markha Valley guarded by
Kang Yatse 6400mt. from east and Zanskar range from the south west.
From any of the high points you can have breath-taking views on the Korakaram
Sasser Kangri Peak (7670 mt.), Stok Kangri (6150 mt.), Kang
Yatse 6400 mt. and Nun Kun (7135mts.)
During this trek you will go through many scattered high villages, each with
irrigated fields of barley, wheat and mustard which adds brilliance to the
landscape of this broken moon land.

SPITUK to STOK TREK

Rumtse is situated 70 Kms east of Leh, the starting point of this
trek. Rupshu Valley lies sandwiched between Ladakh in the north, Tibet in the

This is a challenging Trek in an exotic land of Ancient Kingdoms. It starts
from Phinjila (3420 mts.) around 4 hours drive. This trek leads you to the
Zanskar Valley. Zanskar region is a small and isolated region. It comprises two
narrow valleys. The Stod Valley in the north-west and the Tsarap Valley in the
south-east, which converge at Padum, the administrative center of the region and
leads you to the Himalayan ranges of Kashmir, from the rugged ranges to the
beautiful green mountains.

Lamayuru to Chilling Trek
Duration: 6 days
The valley of Sham, in the lower part of Ladakh, is celebrated for its beauty
and richness during the harvesting season. This trek follows the old caravan
route to Lamayuru, which diverges from the Kargil – Leh road at the Phatu La.
According to legend, Lamayuru was once a lake, which miraculously disappeared by
the hand of Lotsawa Naropa.
The monastery at Lamayuru, built in the 10th century, is one of the oldest in
Ladakh, and belongs to the Kargyu sect of Tibetan Buddhism. This trek offers not
only view of the many natural beauties of Ladakh, but also some of its most
famous monasteries and the traditional lifestyle of the natives.

Lamayuru to Hemis Monastry Trek
Duration: 12 days
A very interesting route beginning at the famous Lamayuru monastery, you walk
up the less travelled Ripchar Valley with its small villages, nomadic
settlements and pastures where you see a wide variety of flowers and many
species of birds from the end of July to end of August. We cross some high
passes with excellent views of the Karakorams and the Zanskar mountains. The
initial part of the trek ends at Chilling, a small village and the only one
where Ladakhi metal work is carried out. From Chilling, we cross the river by
cable pulley. A different set of ponies are on the other side of the river to
carry our gear.
We then continue on to Markha Valley - considered one of the most beautiful
valleys in Ladakh . Here you pass through several Ladakhi settlements as you
walk through their fields and observe their lifestyle. Several river crossings
are involved, but these are not dangerous. Crossing several more passes, through
gorges and wide open pastures, we end the trek at Matho village. Here we visit
the monastery built on a hill between Stok and Stakna, the only monastery
belonging to the Sakyapa order. It is worth visiting this monastery also for the
beautiful view it has over the valley.

Rupsho Trek
Duration: 12 days
The Rupshu is a large area to the south east of Ladakh, on the road
linking Kulu & Leh. The altitude of the valley varies between 4500 & 5500 Mts.
The culminate, which is extremely cold and dry, makes for little agriculture but
a lot of grazing land. That is why it is sparsely populated.
The inhabitants called Changpas, who lead a nomadic life travelling
with their herds of goats, yaks, dogs and flock of sheep. Which are their main
sources of income. Trade and transport of goods by carvans between Ladakh,
Lahoul and Spiti provide them with additional earnings.
